I love this idea and I love your photo of Theo, especially. I thought I recognized him from somewhere, I’m glad Noel found that link to JPG magazine because I originally saw him there.
I have been thinking about portraits a lot and have been thinking about where to start. I may have to get in touch with Theo and see if he would be interested. I’ll let you know if anything comes of it. You should definitely pursue this — it would make a fantastic show!

Thanks awfully. Portraiture is but another performative aspect of my work as an actor, whose projects divide evenly between independent feature films and video art. I began modeling for painters as something of a muse; these days, I suspect, I’m just amusing.

In other news, this is the video interview I did for British photographer Robbie Cooper’s “Immersion: Porn” project, as part of July’s Wallpaper* magazine Sex Issue. My orgasm portrait appears on page 133 of the mag. Other stills from the project are going up next year for six months at the National Media Museum in the UK.

I’ve learned that this video I did for an artist called Martin Murphy, http://martinmurphy.tv/sms_video.php, was screened at the very lofty Détournement Venise 2009 project, as part of the opening of the Venice Biennale, where it continues to be shown. The Split-Mirror Syndrome, as it’s called, was first shown at the much-vaunted Art Basel Miami last Christmas, where this clip was taken at the opening: you can see me hanging on the wall, as people mill about the gallery space, courtesy of my former employer, Vernissage.tv.
In the last month I shot a video for a Portuguese artist whose installation for a big show in Lisbon, in November, is all about Herman Melville (who went to my prep school). I read various chapters from Moby-Dick, which will be overlaid with images of male erotica, as befits a piece examining Melville and his murky sexuality. And another, called Wondermare, in which I played a very lascivious priest for this multimedia art project/feature, might still be up at Apex Art in Tribeca!
