I remember seeing this a few years ago — and being fascinated — but never sought out any more information on it. Then more recently I came across the same footage, to my horror, being used for a music video by the British band Snow Patrol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybr8Z6pzVs0

I find it hard to get past the (/my) bitterness when great art/arthouse film is hijacked by the mainstream entertainment industries or, more frequently, car advertisements. In this case, at least they had the sensitivity not to do a crass re-make, or would that have been better?
