Now that I’ve read this I am very interested in going to look up more of his work! I will be the first to admit that sometimes fashion photographers are not quite given the same credit of a fine art photography. I might sometimes credit fashion photographs to the models crazy make up and wardrobe that make the photographs stunning at times instead of the photographers eye. Although the fact that Meisel has been doing the covers for vogue for so long definitely shows that he’s at the very least a very talented fashion photographer. i don’t think he should be given less credit just because he might do his own personal projects, but not broadcast them to everyone, such as other photographers might do. i’m going to start giving fashion photographers a bit more credit the next time i look at some of their work!
I personally love fashion photography; my twin sister does as well. The only really she chose business management over a photography degree is because she can’t draw and Herron doesn’t offer those classes. God knows I can’t pay to go to the Art Institute of Indianapolis… Anyways!
